Mark Patterson is Executive Director of Magnet, a digital social innovation platform that connects people, businesses, and organizations to relevant opportunities. Mark is a pioneering changemaker who has worked for more than a decade to create new approaches to career development, inclusive recruitment, and labour market information, all with the goal of driving social and economic change.
Since its founding in 2014, Magnet has helped bridge the skills gap by collaborating with a national network of community, labour, educational, and industry organizations. Magnet is committed to addressing unemployment and underemployment, with a focus on serving underrepresented communities such as youth, women, newcomers to Canada, Indigenous people, members of visible minorities, and persons with disabilities. In addition, Magnet works with small and medium-sized businesses, as well as large employers, to promote economic growth and improve recruitment.
